  ‘No Cash In Booth’ is a Bandcamp exclusive digital music compilation by Brooklyn-based record label Eto Ano, supporting the decriminalization of fare-beating on the New York MTA. Sixteen New York-based musicians express their dissent towards the over-policing of the MTA.

  The compilation is calling for the passing of NYS Senate Bill S581 and NYS Assembly Bill A6119, which would both decriminalize fare-beating, and is also pointing towards other measures of accountability over the NYPD such as making the NYPD commissioner an electable position.

  The only prompt given to compilation participants was “music of resistance”. Across the 18-track release, we hear sounds of the New York subway interspersed between ambient tracks, New York house, UKG, bass music, acid techno, and more.

  Label profits from the compilation sales are split between the National Lawyers Guild New York Chapter, which provides legal support to those protestors and victims of police repression, and The Legal Aid Society, which provides essential legal services to low-income New Yorkers.
